The Business Case for Going Green

Many Rewards to Reap from Sowing Green Seeds

Many of our customers amongst Arnco’s business groups have already began offering environmentally sustainable products.  Whether it be ecofil® that utilizes renewable resources and dramatically reduces oil and petrochemicals or G-cast™ that was an industry first in cast elastomers that utilized bio-based materials as well as eliminating toxic metals, these customers have been able to respond to a growing marketplace for greener products with newer, innovative products from Arnco.

Fortunately, not only do these products help sustain the environment, but they also help sustain your profits as well.  Before deciding if or which shade of green your company should be, make sure this will also create green for your company.

Below are some other thoughts that may help make the business case for Going Green!

  • By offering new, innovative products that respond to growing customer awareness, your business will further differentiate itself from the competition
  • Rather than wait for your competition or regulation, offering more sustainable products can also increase the perception of your business and brand as the market leader.
  • Internalizing sustainable practices will improve profitability by saving money and energy consumption through and reducing, reusing, and recycling.
  • If marketed correctly, overall market share should increase as customers tend to purchase from those companies and brands that consistently offer newer technologies.
  • Attracting and retaining employees as people usually feel better about a company that offers more than just a job. Not only will this save money replacing good employees, but also these employees are often the best source for many cost saving ideas.

Perhaps your business has been involved in some of the above-mentioned activities for many years – even before being Green became the global trend that it is.  Either way, why not lead your marketplace and further educate your customers about your green products and practices?

If you are interested in an article by the Wall Street Journal about how becoming more sustainable can save money on insurance premiums for your personal, auto or business please email your request to GreenMatters@arnconet.com and I will send you the article.  Also, as we are always learning, I would be very open to any comments, ideas, or suggestions you may have.
