ecofil®, One Year Later

ecofil Proves Itself a Viable Tire Flatproofing Alternative

In early 2008 the price of oil was increasing by double digits monthly. There seemed to be no end until July when oil peaked at above $140/barrel and the price of tire flatproofing polymers had more than doubled from traditional prices. Once again Arnco demonstrated its' industry leadership by developing an environmentally friendly option, Arnco introduced ecofil to the price shocked tire market. Backed by over four years of product development, independent laboratory testing and field testing, ecofil’s commercialization could not have come at a better time.

Now one year later, with over 10 million pounds sold (and more than 20,000 tires filled) ecofil has proven itself as a viable tire flatproofing alternative with the benefits of using 50% less petrochemicals and an inherently less expensive price. Its performance benefits have been proven in most OTR tire applications.

Presently, the prices of oil and petrochemicals have stabilized mainly due to the weak demand caused by the world-wide recession. But we can be sure that as demand increases we will see more spikes in these highly speculative commodities and the price of flatproofing will increase accordingly. That is why we at Arnco are committed to the concept of less oil dependent products which are both good for the planet and more stable economically.

We are grateful for the participation and feedback provided by our "beta" dealers in our roll out of ecofil. Their valuable assistance enabled us to identify and address minimal processing issues which has helped assure future success.
