MARVIN DEWAINE MONSRUD 1928-2007

Farewell to a Friend

Longtime customer and friend Marvin Monsrud, 78, passed away on April 18th 2007. Marvin got into the tire business in 1969 after relocating from Minnesota to Portland. He started Industrial Tires Service of Portland with only $500 in his pocket. Through his vision and passion the tire business flourished. He would go on to open five other locations in the Pacific Northwest.

Marvin had a large presence in the community as well. He sponsored the scoreboard at Madison High School, as well as various baseball teams and the local 4-H, of which he was a member in his youth. When not at one of his grandchildren’s sporting events he could be found outdoors on a hunting or fishing trip.

Marvin is survived by his wife Eunice; brother Raymond and his wife Beverly; son Steve and his wife Karen and children Sara, Justin and Joshua; son Marvin and his wife Jan and their children Kyle and Kevin; son Brian and his children Marissa, Andrew and Austin. There are many nieces and nephews.

Industrial Tire Service is one of Arnco’s oldest customer and we appreciate the faith that Marvin showed in us throughout the years
