New Global Packaging Solution |
|
|
Last April, Arnco
customers received a pleasant surprise. It was at this time that
Arnco forged a partnership with Schuetz container and created a new
global package.
The
new totes offer new liners, easy pick-up, and better drainage.
Arnco has been using totes
since they first became available. Originally, 330-gallon carbon steel
tanks were used, but they proved problematic. We then switched to
composite totes, which is what you see today; a 275-gallon (1000 kg)
plastic liner nestled in a metal cage with a wooden or metal pallet.
Today, Arnco ships its products in brand new bottles that virtually
eliminate contamination.
The A-side products are still moisture-sensitive and need to be handled
accordingly, but as long as a desiccant is used, there should be no
problems. To help avoid cross contamination, the A-side totes now
have red corners, and the B-sides have white corners. This provides a
visual reminder to connect the right couplings and it minimizes the
possibility of a clogged or contaminated pump. Now, all you have to
worry about is getting the empty totes picked up.

|
Arnco’s
new procedure for having "empties" picked up has been improved
as well.
|
|
When 4 empty totes are accumulated
at one location, simply fill out the "Schuetz Ticket"(see
example) and fax it to 908-595-9618 in the US. International customers
please refer to the ticket for other fax numbers. The totes will be
picked up within 5 business days. If you are in a remote location, the
wait may be slightly longer.
One quick way to
help your bottom line out is to use all of the product that is in each
tote. This is important because 1
inch of liquid is equal to almost 7 gallons, or 56 pounds of potential
profit!
If a customer returns just 4 totes with 2 inches of product in
each tote, $500 is wasted. To avoid this, tilt the totes forward by
inserting a wood block under the back of the tote to use as much as you
can when filling. If there is only a small amount left over, you can
drain the totes using the drain nozzle and mix the "A" and
"B" sides and then let it solidify. If there is a significant
amount left, the material should be drained through a filter into a new
tote. If you need assistance in setting up a "draining
system", please contact your technical representative.
Arnco’s new packaging solution is just another illustration of our
effort to put our customers first. Thank you for your patience during
the transition period and let us know if there is anything we can do to
make your flatproofing program better. |
