After 78 years of
"tire experience" for one Arnco employee alone, Larry
Mendelsohn has announced his retirement. Beginning in 1926 at the early
age of 5, Larry seemed destined to be in the tire business (see picture
below).
A graduate of Notre Dame, he served in WW II on a PT boat, and later
obtained his graduate degree from MIT. He is definitely one of "the
greatest generation". Larry joined Arnco in the early
1970’s as Vice-President of Arnco and later returned to Arnco in the
late 1980’s as Director of Business Development with a focus on
International Operations.
For those of you
who have had the opportunity to meet Larry, I think you will all agree
that he will be very missed for his experience, insight, as well as his
"old school" ways. Although we will no longer be able to count
on Larry for his many contributions. His legacy will be reflected
in the many international partnerships Arnco continues to enjoy today.
We wish Larry and his wife Joyce many happy years ahead |
